We know that it can be difficult to make changes & it can be a struggle to understand why changes need to happen.

Going from childhood and school to being a young adult, or from living with parents and siblings to a different setting can be daunting. Perhaps making the transition between one adult placement to another due to changes in support needs or just because a change would be beneficial, can lead to anxiety.

We at Dignity understand that and we try as much as possible to offer a bridge. A bridge that enables people to walk over into the next phase of their life, perhaps to find new opportunities and have new experiences or to build on the good things that a person already enjoys. For some this will mean moving in with a new group of people, designing a new programme of activities or perhaps stepping into their own tenancy and gaining more independence.

We have a variety of care support services & home settings aimed at helping people to be as independent as they can be, within the range of their strengths and needs. We specialise in developing a package of care & support that is unique to each individual. Although we understand and are lead by good practice in the support of particular syndromes and professionally assessed diagnosis, we think of people as people first, getting to know them as an individual and as much as possible avoid labelling within our services.

We at Dignity try as much as possible to help bridge the gap between the limitations imposed by a person's disability and the ability to experience a full life.
